ROGER CAREW-HUNT FUND
Through generous donation Lydcare has been able to set up a new fund to support suitable causes within the Forest.
The Roger Carew-Hunt Fund
Roger was originally from London and moved to the Forest of Dean where he joined Lydcare as a voluntary driver. Sadly his life was cut short following an extremely aggressive cancer.
He cared very much for the Forest Community and left his property ‘Mokki’ at Worrall Hill to Lydcare.
His family expressed his wish that this bequest should be used to support Lydcare and where possible deliver benefit to the local community. The Lydcare Trustees were advised that Mokki would require significant funding to upgrade to letting standard so it was sold as Lydcare did not have access to funds for property development.

It was decided to invest some of the capital into a flat in Coleford to provide a regular income and to protect the capital value. The remaining capital is held so that the Trustees can support deserving causes/projects within the Forest. The annual income will also be used in this way and if necessary to support the running costs of if required thus ensuring the long term viability of Lydcare.

The Fund has been named to acknowledge Rogers very generous bequest.
It is managed by Holding Trustees who are appointed by Lydcare and the accounts and annual report are held at Oversby Accountants, Coleford where they are available to anyone who wishes to view them.

The Trustees welcome inquiries from any charity/individual from within the Forest of Dean who would like to be considered for funding.
